Trust a Dietitian…in Northern Ireland

Dietitians Storm Stormant

The BDA were delighted to host a Parliamentary event at the Pavilion, Stormont, Northern Ireland on Tuesday 10th June 2014 as part of Diettiians Week.

The Pavilion on the Stormont Estate was the venue for Dietitians and stakeholders across Northern Ireland who came together to celebrate Dietitians Week 2014.

The event, sponsored by Minister for Health Edwin Poots MLA, brought together over 80 attendees including; dietitians from across Northern Ireland who work in Health and Social Care Trusts across the breadth of clinical areas, public health and education; Civil Servants from a number of government departments including health, education and the Public Health Agency; AHP Leads; and those commissioning AHP services.

Poster displays provided a great opportunity to showcase some of the fantastic work being undertaken by the profession, the contribution that the profession is playing in the delivery of health and social care services, and the impact the profession is having.

The Minister took the time to look at poster displays and speak with dietitians about the great work they are doing.

BDA Policy Officer Nicola Morris said:

“The event was a real celebration of the dietetic profession and the contribution it is making to the delivery of services in Northern Ireland.

It was fantastic to see the profession in Northern Ireland sharing their work with each other and key stakeholders to really demonstrate the impact the profession is making and why you can Trust a Dietitian.”
