Dietitians Week Events

 

Dietitians Week 2014 took place from 9-13 June, with special events which took place across the UK and the globe to celebrate the work and value of dietitians.  It was an amazing week jam-packed with both BDA and member-led awareness raising events and activities.

 

Dietitians Week (the worlds first) was organised by the British Dietetic Association (BDA), however a big “thank you” to all BDA member dietitians around the world who flew the flag in their respective countries by organising and leading a variety of events and activities in and around Dietitians Week.

Monday 9th June

• Official Launch of the world’s first Dietitians Week (*applause*)
• Online ‘Thunderclap’ launch of Dietitians Week (12-noon)
• Partnership twitter chat between @DietitiansWeek #RDUK (@RDUKChat) and @BrDieteticAssoc (1pm – 2pm, subject: Meat-Free Eating)
• Announcing and profiles of this year’s winners of the BDA’s Elizabeth Washington Award, the Rose Simmonds Award and the Dame Barbara Clayton Award, respectively

 

Tuesday 10th June

• Special parliamentary reception at the Northern Ireland Assembly, hosted by Edwin Poots MLA, to highlight Dietitians Week to key stakeholders for Northern Ireland (12.30pm)
• Special parliamentary reception at Westminster at the House of Lords, hosted by Lord Balfe, to highlight Dietitians Week to key stakeholders for England (3.30pm)
• Partnership twitter chat between @DietitiansWeek #RDUK (@RDUKChat) and @BrDieteticAssoc (8pm – 9pm, subject: Fat Facts)
• Announcing the winner and profile of this year’s winner of the BDA’s Media Spokesperson of the Year

 

Wednesday 11th June

• Announcing the winner and profile of this year’s BDA’s Specialist Group of the Year
• Partnership twitter chat between @DietitiansWeek #RDUK (@RDUKChat) and @BrDieteticAssoc (8pm – 9pm, subject: Food Truths/Facts)

 

Friday 13th June
