Key Facts

Key Facts

One of the key elements of your Trust a Dietitian resource toolkit will be the Key Fact Sheets.

These documents will allow you to outline your role as a specialist in a given care pathway, allowing commissioners to identify the critical stages where dietetic input is needed, and present a business case to try to ensure they commission your services.

Via one of our members who works in industry, we have been able to access a group comprised of three commissioners, three managers, two GPs and an accountable officer. This vital group are helping us to identify the crucial information that will make them sit up and think – yes, I can see the value of dietetic input in this care pathway – and crucially, I need to commission dietetic services. This feedback is invaluable to the profession.

We will be working closely with this group and have already identified experts via BDA Specialist Groups to produce Key Fact Sheets on the following topics:

  • CVD
  • Dementia
  • Diabetes
  • Eating disorders
  • Food allergy
  • Food poverty
  • Haematology
  • Head and neck cancer
  • Hospital food
  • IBD
  • IBS
  • Learning disabilities
  • Malnutrition
  • Obesity
  • Paediatric diabetes
  • Paediatric obesity
  • Palliative care
  • Public health
