Good Food 4 All Project
Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust, Public Health Nutrition Team’s Good Food 4 All project investigated food insecurity in North Kensington.
A Public Health Dietitian undertook a needs assessment of the scale of the problem.
Dietitians carried out focus groups and surveys with community members and a healthy food basket survey of availability and price of a healthy diet. The project has been developed in partnership with local voluntary organisations, health, housing and children and family services in the borough.
As a result, food access messages have been incorporated into group nutrition programmes. The public health nutrition team are also working with fast food outlets, local markets and local food shops to improve access to cheaper, healthier, quality food for local residents.
